What will I learn in a BAMF integration course?

The German integration course pursues two goals:

  • On one hand, it aims to improve your German language skills to soon easily master everyday situations such as shopping, filling out forms, or simply having a conversation with your neighbor.
  • At the same time, the teaching of important knowledge about values, culture and history of Germany is on the curriculum. This will help you find your way even faster and better in your new home, Germany.

Divided into two parts, your integration course consists of a language course and an orientation course building on it.

In the integration course, you will cover the following topics, among others:

  • Shopping and housing
  • Leisure time and social contacts
  • Work and profession
  • The German healthcare system and doctor visits
  • Offices and authorities

Structure of the Integration Course

The Language Course

In the first part, the language course, you and your classmates focus entirely on learning important vocabulary and grammar.

The language course is further divided into the basic and advanced language course.

In a total of 600 teaching units (TU), you will work with authentic topics from everyday life.

Afterwards, you will be able to:

  • Write letters or emails in German
  • Independently find a new apartment
  • Apply for a job

The Orientation Course

Have you already successfully completed the language course? Congratulations!

With this, you have qualified to attend the second part of your BAMF integration course that builds on it: the orientation course.

This comprises 100 teaching units (TU) and teaches you basic knowledge about life in Germany.

The teaching of useful everyday knowledge focuses on the following questions, among others:

  • What do I need to know about the German legal system?
  • What important events belong to German history and culture?
  • What significance do values such as tolerance or equality between men and women have in Germany?
  • What rights, but also what obligations do I have when living in Germany?

The orientation course ends with the Life in Germany test. The certificate is a prerequisite for naturalization.

Free Placement Test

Before you start your BAMF integration course, we conduct a placement test with you. This is completely non-binding and free of charge for you. This ensures that you start in the appropriate module!
